Ball Behaviour
In the Ball Flight chapter we’d explored two components of the flight path: a ball's initial direction, and any subsequent curvature. I’d explained the former is due to the clubface orientation at separation, and the latter due to the direction of spin placed on the ball.

Now we’ll be going into more detail, and with the help of The Golfing Machine, understanding exactly what causes a ball to move the way it does post impact. This chapter will be broken down into eight steps, and will show impact from three perspectives. These are:
A - Behind the ball; the area where the clubface strikes.
B - Above the ball; where the target is north of the diagram.
C - The side of the ball; looking at the player "face on".
